I started photography seriously after
buying my first SLR (an Olympus OM1 ) in 1974. I later
graduated to OMs 2 and 4 and photographed mainly Natural
History subjects using Kodachrome 64.
In 1983 I retired form teaching and joined
NDPS (the best move I ever made in photography). Another good
move was joining the RPS which I did shortly after. I got my
LRPS and a year or two later, my ARPS in Nature and was
commended by Heather Angel who headed the judging panel! All
of this, I think, has helped me to improve my photography.
There is of course still plenty of room for further improvement
and an FRPS is still a dream.
Another interest has been audio visual work
and I have enjoyed making sequences using slides. Now that I have
'gone digital' (Olympus E1) I am getting to grips with digital
sequences. It's a fairly steep curve.
