John Thirkill

I have been taking photos. for about forty years. In the main I enjoy street photography; just walking with a camera and snapping whatever I come across. Since getting a small digital camera I have hardly touched my film SLR. Factors such as cost and the sheer “bother” of film put me off. I'm not that interested in the technical hardware side of photography. As long as it works that's good enough, leaving me free to concentrate on what to record.

I've haven't been a member of a Club / Society until now and have never thought of photography as the competitive sport it seems to be. It's good to see the work of others and the talks have been very interesting.
