23rd East Anglian Shield

The Society took part in the 23rd East Anglian Shield photographic competition on Saturday 8th Nov at Needham Market , Suffolk.

Norwich finished half way in 12th position out of 21 clubs.

The judge was Colin Harrison FRPS from Oxford

Wrecked - Angela Adams 17: Liked the composition although it was cut in two. Quality a bit down with burned out areas
of water. Liked the gritty feel which brought out texture in the wood.
Dancer - Carolyn Hylton 17: Liked the atmosphere and lighting. Didn't like the position of the dancer - could do with a
trim of RHS.
A Beautiful Mind - Brian Ebbage FRPS 17: Liked the idea and location. Liked the pose of the girl. Didn't like the dark area on the left. Thought it would be better as a square picture with the girl in the middle.

Storm Approaching - Angela Adams 18: Liked the picture but thought it had a pink cast. Would have liked a slower shutter speed
to blur the water. Liked the sky. 
My Ruin - Al Pulford 19: Thought this was great. A bit dark but you can see the faces and tattoos which is what matters. Would make a good LP cover. Didn't like the bright object at the bottom - if it hadn't been there would have given it top mark. Very dynamic image.
Runham - Brian Ebbage FRPS 17: Fantastic lighting, good colours and sky. Didn't like composition, should have been an
upright with the church in the centre. Liked the birds.
